From today until Friday, the city of Doha, capital of Qatar, becomes the city of education, as the seat of WISE, World Innovation Summit for Education, the World Summit for innovation in education. The main topic of this year’s summit is “Partnership for change.” Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation, inaugurated this morning the summit. Dressed in tight black and with their faces uncovered only in Arabic, said that WISE would like to draw attention to “the crucial role of education in all societies,” and create a platform for innovation and practical solution that can help overcome the challenges facing education worldwide. But he also stressed: “No one can impose their model to others ‘or’ has infused knowledge” and that if there is a sector that requires collaboration, that is the teaching.
