Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho said he was given the nickname during his time in English football, ‘The Special One’, should be changed to ‘The Only One’, having won the Premier League, Italian and Spanish.

“In London, I was introduced as a ‘Special One’. Thankfully, things have continued to go well and, like it or not, I’m the only one who has won the English championship, Italian and Spanish. Therefore, more that ‘Special One’ should start calling me “only one”, said in an interview with Portuguese television SIC.

Over time, Mourinho said: “After winning almost everything” in the clubs he has managed during his career is “becoming less selfish and egocentric.” Remember with a special fondness his time at Inter Milan. “Turn back to beat a club like Inter, fifty years later, gives me particular pleasure. So are my challenges.”

The Portuguese coach, 49, was nicknamed ‘Special llamárselo One’después of himself during a press conference prior to a match of Champions League with Porto in 2004.
