With a workforce of 1,000 journalists, 26 correspondents abroad, and more than 80 Pulitzer Prizes, The New York Times is the largest American newspaper.Their slogan, “all the news that’s fit to print” (“all the news that deserve to bepublished ‘), has been on the front page since 1897.
The importance of the diary is unquestionable: the national media do not beginto seriously consider the coverage of a story until it has been published in The New York Times. This is also the only newspaper whose Sunday edition(pulled to 1.7 million copies) is distributed throughout the country. The SundayLiterary Supplement, New York Times Book Review, is widely known, as also with the New York Times Magazine. In 1896, the Ochs-Sulzberger familybought the liberal newspaper founded in 1851 and has since become its owner.
