The phone company has appointed a new CEO José María Álvarez-Pallete, until now responsible for business in Europe.

José María Álvarez-Pallete replaces Julio Linares, who has decided to resign for reasons “personal” as Telefónica, and “put an end to his executive responsibilities in the company after more than forty years of continuous service to it.”
