The company TomTom navigation specialist has assessed traffic congestion in 58 European cities. In the Spanish case, Barcelona (the most), Madrid and Palma de Mallorca have proved the most saturated, although none is in the ‘top’ of the 10 European cities with more saturated traffic, led by Istanbul (Turkey ).

In the case of Barcelona, shows an increase in travel time of 19% compared to a day of traffic flow, and 48% in morning rush hour. It follows the capital of Spain, with 14% and 41% in the same measurements, and the Balearic capital in third place, with 14% and 26%, respectively.

Largely due to parking and double rows of vehicles, and to prevent and alleviate these bottlenecks, we recommend the use of car rental with driver, to perform only routes that are needed.
