At least 12 people have died from another earthquake in the northern part of Italy just ten days after the earthquake that killed seven people in the same area, according to Civil Protection cited by the Italian daily “La Repubblica”. The firstquake, of magnitude 5.8 on the Richter scale, recorded at nine o’clock, has followed another, about one o’clock, with an intensity of 5.6, according to data provided by the Service U.S. Geological Survey.
The first quake was 41 kilometers north of Bologna and 60 kilometers east ofParma and the epicenter was 9.6 miles deep. Several of the victims died in the collapse of a warehouse, said the chain “Skytg24” the Mayor of San Felice sulPanaro, Alberto Silvestri. Other 3 deceased died aldesplomarse buildings in the town of Concordia, in Finale Emilia and Mirandola.
Both tremors were strongly advised because there have been shallower than that of day 20, according to the Italian Institute of Geophysics. They feltthroughout northern Italy and in cities like Milan many people left the building.This morning the earth has stopped shaking and there have been about 40 aftershocks of lesser intensity.
