The California company Apple announced today in a statement that it has sold more than five million of its new iPhone 5, just three days after its launch on 21 September. In addition, the new software launched by Apple this month, iOS 6 has been updated in more than 100 million devices worldwide.

The iPhone 5 is already sold in the U.S., Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and the UK, will be available in 22 countries on 28 September and more than a hundred years later. According to the company, the demand for iPhone 5 was much higher than the initial offer and, although most advance orders have been shipped to customers, many are scheduled to ship in October.
