The state company Navantia shipbuilding dedicated to military, technologicaland Indra are the only two Spanish companies listed in the “Top 100” military-industrial world in 2010, according to the latest report from the prestigiousInternational Institute for Stockholm International Peace (also known as SIPRIby its acronym in English), released today.
With sales amounting to 2,010 million dollars, Navantia is ranked number 45.Sales of military equipment, warships of Navantia-account for 96% of totalsales, according to the SIPRI report.
Meanwhile, Indra accumulated sales in 2010 worth $ 780 million, rankingnumber 85. Sales in military section accounted for 23% of total turnover.
This annual ranking is led by the U.S. company Lockheed Martin with a turnover of 35,730 million dollars. It follows in second position, the British BAESystems with a turnover of 32,880 million dollars.
Among the top ten companies are seven Americans, the British BAE, the European consortium EADS (seventh with 16,360 million) and Italy’sFinmeccanica (eight with 14,410 million dollars in sales).
