The Hippodrome de la Zarzuela in Madrid, a Cultural category of monument since 2009, received the first prize 2012 of the College of Architects of Madrid (COAM) 2012, by the Restoration and Rehabilitation Project Enclosure races conducted by the Junquera studio Architects.
For this reason, and coinciding with the ninth week of Architecture, Architecture Foundation COAM, next to Studio Architects Junquera and collaboration of La Zarzuela Racecourse, organized tours Zarzuela coming Thursday 4th and Friday 5th October between 10.00 and 14 hours.

The Racetrack Races Campus of La Zarzuela, designed by architects Charles Arniches, Martin Dominguez and engineer Eduardo Torroja, is declared of Cultural Interest (BIC) with monument category from October 2009.

The stands began to be built in 1935, and the start of the Civil War had only built the structure. After the fight resumed the works, although no Arniches architects and Dominguez, and racecourse finally opened in 1941, hosting horse races.
