Today March 21 is the “World Day Down Syndrome.” If you have five minutes you might like to read this entry in order to learn more about this day and for a group of people that over 6 million people worldwide. As a parent of a child with Down syndrome I trust that after this day people like you have taken the time to read this post and interested in people with Down syndrome make their future is even more promising than it already I envisioned.
Why March 21?
This date was chosen because the 21/3 (or 3/21) symbolizes the threefold increase in chromosome pair 21 (trisomy 21), one of the genetic combinations (not the only, see below) resulting in the syndrome Down.
