A group of researchers at the University of Seville uses mathematical techniques to predict situations in Biology and Medicine. Specifically, they have developed methods to describe, under certain conditions, the evolution of cancer cells and the effect on them produces a therapy chosen with the intention to remove or contain the growth of a tumor.
Professor, Professor, Department of Differential Equations and Numerical Analysis, explains: “Once solved the equations we know how it will evolve the tumor very approximate and predict future situations, corresponding to different therapies.” The objective of this approach is to determine techniques of control theory, therapies “best” that lead to such favorable situations as possible.
